YouTube Shorts launched in September of 2020 and has now amassed more than 5 trillion views on short-form videos according to YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. The video-sharing company now says it has surpassed 5 trillion views on Shorts and is going to add more monetization features for its Shorts creators. Mid-January 2023: Creators who've earned 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million Shorts views (in 90 days) can officially become eligible for the YPP. Wojcicki wrote in an update to creators Tuesday, “At YouTube, we're focused on growing our platform in the year ahead. Shorts was a key part of their update. In the message, Wojcicki shared that over 40% of creators getting paid through this fund were not part of YouTube’s YouTube Partner Program (YPP). But what if you're not in the YPP yet? On February 25, 2020 it was announced that she would release her sixth solo album, Fine, Thank You on March 27. The six song offering features performances by Stewart Copeland on four tracks. Copeland, Holland and Clarke performed a new song by Holland entitled "Whipping Boy". The band performed "Spy in the House of Love" on Late Night with David Letterman on November 10, 1989, accompanied by members of Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band.


Along with bassist Stanley Clarke, he decided to form a band centered around a female singer. Wojcicki wrote, “We’re working every day to improve how we help creators get started and reach an audience faster on Shorts.” Last year, Shorts added a $100 million fund to help encourage creators to monetize with Shorts.
